Starting Therapy Shouldn’t Be Complicated

Reaching out for counseling can feel like a big step, especially when you are already dealing with trauma, difficult relationships, family stress, or a major life transition.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you begin.

My goal is to make getting started straightforward, give you an opportunity to ask questions, and help you determine whether My Confidant Counseling, PLLC is a good fit for your needs.

What Happens Next?

  • 1. Schedule a Complimentary Consultation

Your first step is a free 15-minute consultation with Joerika Stitt, LSW.

This is an opportunity to briefly share what brings you to counseling, ask questions about the practice, and learn whether the services offered may be appropriate for you.

The consultation is not a therapy session and does not establish a therapist-client relationship.

  • 2. Complete Your New Client Forms

If we determine that moving forward makes sense, you will receive secure new-client paperwork through the SimplePractice client portal.

Your forms will help me learn more about what you are experiencing, your history, your goals for counseling, and anything else that may be important as we begin working together.

Please complete your paperwork before your first therapy session so that our time can remain focused on you.

  • 3. Schedule Your First Session

Once your intake process is complete, you can schedule your first counseling session.

Your first session gives us more time to understand what has been happening, what you would like to change, and what you hope to gain from therapy.

You do not have to tell your entire story at once. We will begin where you are and move at a pace that supports your needs and goals.
